Happy Forf ob Jubi
Isla was extremely excited to wish everyone "Happy Forf ob Jubi" this year. In fact she was excited for everything that came along with the 4th of July.
We started the day by riding in the Cinco Ranch 4th of July Parade. Daddy took Isla through the parade with our friends Ian, Jordana and Brayden, while I took Holden and watched the festivities with some neighbors.
Isla was pretty intrigued by all the festivities, and seemed excited for the parade to start.
As soon as she saw me and Holden she was done with the parade and hopped out of her car.
After the parade there were a bunch of activities for the kids. We let Isla go through a sprinkler bounce house
And down a slide. She had some trouble climbing up this one, so she got a little help.
It was worth it!
We decided to move the kids to a neighborhood pool to cool off. There we met some friends and worked off some more energy.
It worked! The busy morning made for one tired 5 month old. AND Isla took a nap when we got home. This was crucial if she was going to make it through the fireworks that evening.
Later that evening we went to La Centerra to watch the neighborhood fireworks.
Isla experienced the thrill of setting off her first "firework" (The poppers that you throw down and they make a cracking sound). She was hooked...
The sparklers were a little bit scarier but just as entertaining.
But the big hit of the night were the professional fireworks. Isla kept calling out the colors she wanted to see. Any guesses on her favorite? It was pink. Holden seemed to enjoy the fireworks as well and pretty much stayed mesmerized throughout the show.
Even though it fell in the middle of the week, and Jordan only had one day off we made the best of it and had a great Forf ob Jubi!
