Exploring Cinco

This weekend we had a bit of a cold spell hit our warm weather paradise of Texas.  In the past couple of weeks, I have been tanning by the pool and have taken the kids to neighbors pools to enjoy our fabulous spring weather, but this weekend the highs were only in the high 60's with lows dipping into the 30's.  I know, I know - some areas of the country experienced blizzards this weekend, but for us, this is cold.

Despite the cold weather Jordan and I wanted to make the most of our day, and as usual our kids were ecstatic to be playing outside.  We decided to go to a bridge in the neighborhood close to our house to let the kids and Teddy run around and work off some energy.

Isla felt like a really big girl as she was given the job of holding Teddy's leash.  This really translated more into her screaming while getting dragged around by Teddy and battling 24mph wind gusts...

Holden was extremely excited to be let loose - as a new walker, we don't always let him down to walk around outside, but today was an exception, and he was noticeably grateful.

This looks a lot more secluded and enchanted then it really was.  In reality it's a short 200 meters off the major road in our neighborhood, but no one needs to know that...

Isla had a great time playing with her brother and helping him look for froggies (basically the non-existent frogs that Jordan and I claim are under the bridge so that Isla will pose for pictures).

And like I said, Holden was just happy to be free!

Isla practiced her jumps and twirls, as well as her "Strawberry Shake Dance".

And who doesn't love a hug between brother and sister?!!!

No trip is complete without some spins from Daddy...

All in all it was a little cold, a little windy, but a wonderful day nonetheless.
