Mid-April
We had a full, yet relaxing weekend filled with lots of family time and a great afternoon with good friends. Saturday afternoon we headed out to No Label Brewery here in Katy, Texas. No Label is a brewery situated in Old Katy, that I've passed by a million times, and never knew what it was. Like many breweries, you pay $5 and get a handful of tokens and a glass. You are given the opportunity to upgrade to a larger pint glass for a couple dollars extra. The upgrade allows you to bring your pint glass back each time you come to visit the brewery, and is definitely worth the upgrade. Everyone is encouraged to bring chairs, snacks, dogs, kids, etc... The brewery is mostly outside, and the parts that aren't outside are open air with the bars/brewing equipment located in big warehouses with the large doors pulled all the way open. Theres a live band, BBQ, and crawfish - the whole atmosphere reminded me of a big tailgate, and couldn't have been more fun - we will definitely be back. I can only hope the weather will be as perfect as it was this past weekend. While we weren't sweating thanks to a cool breeze and a mild 78 degrees, we definitely felt the effects of the sun, and went home that night with the burns to show for it.
Sunday morning we were woken early by Isla jumping into our bed. We decided to help her burn off some energy and planned a busy day. We headed to Katy Mills since we had some errands to run there, but decided to make it a fun trip for her as well, and let her jump on the bungee trampoline for the first time. I thought she might be a little scared about it, but in true Isla fashion she jumped right up asking the trampoline controller what his name was, and throwing her hand out for him to shake as she proudly told him "my names Isla".
He strapped her in, and she was up and jumping... literally.
We had another beautiful day, so we made the most of it and spent about an hour at a neighborhood park.
Isla made some quick friends who were playing tag - she went right up to two girls and said "I want to play tag". We are not sure she really even knows how to play tag, but she had a great time running around with them nonetheless. Later on the three of them went to Disneyworld, so it was clearly a good hour spent at the park.
She wasn't always as excited playing with her brother... as you can tell she clearly didn't want him in the ladybug with her.
No matter to Holden. He quickly found a new task. Playing with dirt.
He mixed in playing with dirt to finding treasures (leaves, acorns, woodchips, etc...), and stuffing them into this hole in the concrete. This was seriously 10 minutes or more worth of fun.
He is all boy...
Later on at home we took the inflatable pool out and while Holden was way too tired to enjoy it, Isla had a ball while her brother napped.
NO PICTURES!!!
All in all, a really great weekend. Hope y'all had a good one too!
