Mothers Day Weekend
Thanks to my beautiful babies and sweet husband I had a wonderful Mothers Day. It began on Friday with "Tea with Mum" at Isla's school. I arrived at her school at 3pm to share some tea (pink lemonade), and decorate some cookies with my little girl. Upon arrival I noticed Isla was in a "Reasons why I love my Auntie" shirt that was certainly not hers. Apparently she had spilled pizza all over the adorable white shirt that I had put her in that morning... Thats my girl! She was so excited to see me, and so we sat down to decorate some cookies. She proudly gave me my mothers day present, a stained glass candle holder and card that they had made in school. Truthfully, I was choking back tears at this point! We were each given two cookies - one for the child, and one for Mom, well Isla had different plans, and iced and smushed both cookies together for a cookie sandwich - all for her. For a child who doesn't eat a lot she sure does have grand plans!
It was a perfect way to start Mothers Day weekend.
Later that evening we met up with our friends Craig and Stacie at Lupe Tortillas. As always, the girls had a great time playing together, and we were left battling our younger ones while trying to eat and enjoy a margarita.
The next day we went to a local neighborhood to wander around, and of course snap some shots of the kids (see the next blog post for photos from that adventure). That night Jordan and I went out to dinner and drinks at La Centerra. It was a break from the norm as that's not what we usually do on a night out, and we had a great time slowly eating and drinking in a much more relaxed environment then what we are used to!
The next morning started with breakfast and kiddos in bed. The day was filled with many Happy Mothers Day wishes from Isla (to anyone she saw), snuggles and hugs, and the royal treatment from my fabulous husband. It couldn't have been anymore perfect. I feel blessed everyday, but this weekend was even more special, and gave me a chance to reflect on how truly lucky we are. Isla and Holden, you mean so much to me - thanks for letting me be your Mama!
And to all the beautiful Mama's in my life I hope you had a wonderful weekend as well. You are all so special, and I hope you got to feel that way this weekend.
A very special Happy Mothers Day to the two most important ones in our life - We love you for the mothers that you are to Jordan and myself, and for the wonderful Mimi and Nana that you are to our children. Thank you for everything that you do!
