Friday Photo Dump

This week was pretty routine for us.  We spent some time at the pool, crafted and attended Isla's various activities and lessons.

Some highlights came towards the end of the week;  The first, was a trip to Adventure Kids.  This is a drop in child care place that I take advantage of when Isla has gymnastics, or I need to do something without both kids, or we are taking Isla somewhere special.  Well, up until this past week Isla has never stayed.  I had a hair appointment, so I needed to drop them both off on Thursday afternoon.  Isla was super excited... so much so that I had to wonder what was so wrong with hanging out with Mom?!?! I understand it though - Isla is SUPER social, and is most happy around a big group of friends - even if they all start out as total strangers.

Second was Isla's switch to a new school year at British Private Prep.  This switch came with a new classroom and a new teacher.  Of course Isla was excited for this new change and embraced it without any misgivings or fear.  Understandably she was sad to leave Ms. Gordon, but I reassured her that we would be able to visit Ms. Gordon whenever she wanted.  Fortunately, we've been lucky enough to have the same teacher since Isla began preschool nearly two years ago, and they have developed a sweet little relationship.  Nevertheless, all good things must come to an end, and after meeting Isla's new teacher, Ms. Kleinfeldt, I am confident that Isla will grow to have the same type of bond with her.

Finally, my Birthday was this past weekend, and we had a little party planned for Saturday.  I certainly wasn't expecting anything big for my birthday, but knew that Jordan was going to do "something small".  So, to say I was surprised when he came home with beautiful diamond earrings on Thursday evening was an understatement.  It's something I've been wanting, and while I usually have some idea of what Jordan has planned, this year was a TOTAL surprise.
