An Instagram Update on the Last Two Weeks
I apologize for my absence - it's been a busy couple of weeks getting adjusted to new routines and Fall activities. Jordan was also in Napa for a week and wanted to use my camera to take some decent pictures this year. I'm not going to lie, going without my camera for a whole week really sucked, but I am thankful that Jordan was able to document this gorgeous place with a decent camera.
Fall is definitely not here in Katy, Texas, but life goes on as if it were... My house constantly smells of pumpkin something or other, we've been canning, planning more outdoor activities that don't involve water, and shaving Teddy for what is hopefully the last and only time of the Summer, (yes, I said "only". BIG mistake thinking we could get through the Summer leaving his hair long. It literally fell off in clumps, and was making my whole house furry).
Isla's started three-days-a-week at preschool and is loving it. She's our social butterfly, and more time with her friends is like heaven for her. Three-days-a-week means Holden and I have more one-on-one time. I took him to his first library toddler time the other day, (so sad because Isla and I were regulars), and he LOVED it (see the video below). So much so that I signed him and myself up for a Kindermusik class beginning this Thursday. He loves music more then any other kid I've ever seen, and I know we will have so much fun together in this class.
During Jordan's work trip, I took the kids to the Houston Arboretum. Looks like we jumped the gun on this one. It was just WAAAAY too hot still. Both the kids and I were sweaty and miserable, making the planned picnic afterwards very whiny and quick. Once Jordan was home we opted for some indoor fun and took the kids to Jump Street at Katy Mills. I highly recommend this place - floor to wall trampolines, and just as much fun for the adults as it is for the kids. Isla was especially impressed with Daddies flipping abilities.
We were also able to get out of the house last weekend and headed to Montrose to celebrate our friend Wes' birthday. It's rare that I ever leave the Cinco area, so it was nice to get out and try new restaurants and bars. It's been a great couple of weeks, we are just looking forward to some cooler temperatures to go along with our "Fall State of Mind".
