San Francisco // Wine Country Girls Trip - September 2015

A couple of my college friends and I have tried to start a new tradition; a yearly girls trip.  It all started last year with Key West, (click here).

 to see our trip).  We had so much fun, and decided that this would be an annual thing.  This year we decided to go to wine country.  I could hardly wait!  However, being the busy thirty somethings that we are, our lives have changed to where we can't be as spontaneous as we once were back at the University of Tennessee.  We have kids, and jobs and obligations that we can't always walk away from.  Sadly, our friend Michelle ended up not being able to make it, so our three girl trip turned out to be a two person trip...  Scratch that, if we are being technical, it wasactually a three person trip; myself, my friend Nicole, and... the BABY BOY IN HER BELLY!

Nicole's first pregnancy was obviously not known about when we were initially planning this trip, but we didn't want to cancel, and despite some reservations about how much fun she would have on a day full of wine tasting, I was pleasantly surprised.  It went great, and I subsequently never woke up with a hangover!  That's pretty hard to say when you're on a girl trip!  

We spent one day in San Francisco, and then headed up to Napa for two nights.  We fit in a day of tasting and tours, and had a wonderful spa day.  And in a sports pub in Sonoma, we watched our VOLS give up a sizable lead which resulted in a heartbreaking loss.  Thankfully the beautiful landscape, food and of course the wine softened the blow, at least a little...

We are already planning next year, and thinking about turning it into a family trip now that we know about Nicole and Ryans fabulous news!

This was

such

a bucket-list trip for me.  I've been wanting to go for what seems like forever, and it did not disappoint.  Theres so much to do and see, I'm already itching to plan another trip back there!
