BFFs // Watchdog Eating Contest // Fall Fest // Lake // and Everything Else

As usual we've been busy lately.  I've been trying to pull my camera out more often and capture everyday moments like this:

It's my favorite way to take pictures, and I feel like it tells the truest story of the moment.  It's not as posed as planned events, or as stiff as the "say cheese smiles".  It's just my gap mouthed baby girl and her best friend having a picnic on the front porch.

Later that week these two were treated to a Watchdog Eating Contest at the TWE Spirit Night at Smashburger.  Poor, unsuspecting Jordan agreed to compete in the contest under the impression they were judging who could eat ONE hamburger the fastest.  The actual rules of the contest were who could eat FIVE hamburgers in 20 minutes or less.

However daunting, Jordan pushed through, and came out victorious - winning this family a $50 movie gift card AND a TWE water bottle.  Truthfully, the excitement and adoration from one little 1st grader was all it took to propel him to victory.  Isla was so proud of her Daddy, it was all she could talk about for the rest of the week!

After a long week, we were excited to head up to the lake for some R&R.  Our neighbors and good friends the Lennons were joining us on this trip.  The plan was to spend Saturday morning at a Fall Fest in Marble Falls, and the afternoon on the lake - because did I mention its still hot in October in Texas ;).

The Festival exceeded my expectations, and I'm sure we will make it a Fall tradition from here on out.  Holden loved the bouncy trampoline, while Isla had a great time at ALL the activities despite initially not wanting to go.  Funny how sometimes Mom and Dad

do

know best.

Sweet Berry Farm is actually known for their strawberries in the Spring - so we will definitely be back!

We couldn't have asked for a better weekend up in the Hill Country.
