Spring 2017
It feels a little odd to be blogging about Spring as we welcome in the first signs of Fall, but here we go!
Gardening - A New Hobby
This Spring I decided to take up a new hobby. I've attempted to garden before, but the results were less than stellar. This year I committed to a lot of research and hot days and evenings tending to my plants. The outcome was much more positive and although the plants weren't perfect, they each produced good crops and provided a lot of information to use for next years planting.
Mothers Day Weekend
This past Mothers Day was everything I could have hoped for. We spent it at home as a family enjoying the perfect weather by the pool.
Jordan made one of my favorites in the smoker - spicy wings!
I went to bed happy and full...
...and woke up to a delicious breakfast as well as some cosmetics and face masks from my little diva and a beautiful handmade gift from my little man.
I couldn't have asked for anything more. I absolutely
LOVE
being a Mom to these perfect little people!
Isla's First Triathlon
This past Spring the PE program at the kids school had a speaker come in from the US Triathlon Association. Of course, after this Isla was convinced and obsessed - she just
had
to do a triathlon.
We started "training" earlier in the Spring.
Truthfully this training only lasted one session, but come May, Isla was as ready as she was going to be.
I could tell she was nervous, but having friends to run the race with eased some of that tension
The race started with a 100 meter swim, into a 2 mile bike course, and finished up with a 1 mile run.
Ever the social butterfly, Isla was often seen chatting it up with one of her friends during the race.
I was so proud of this strong little girl. I know that I would have been so nervous and probably would never have even attempted something like this at her age.
We had gotten a babysitter for Holden, so we made the rest of the day all about Isla. We headed over for a post race carb up at iHOP, and then spent the rest of the day at the waterpark, which was closed to children who had competed in the triathlon and their families.
That pretty much wraps up our Spring 2017. Now onto one of our most relaxing, yet busiest Summer's yet.
