New Years at the Lake

This year we were lucky enough to spend a full week at the lake between Christmas and New Years. We were able to meet up with a bunch of friends, and host the Dowds at ours for NYE.

We had a lot of spots on our list that we had been meaning to check out - starting with Chalk Ridge Falls Park.

After exploring the park we headed to nearby Georgetown for some of our favorite pizza and treats, and of course some shopping on the square.

With the extra time we were able to explore some breweries that we had on our list and they didn’t disappoint!

Before the Dowds arrived we also decided to check out the botanical gardens. It was beautiful in the middle of the winter, so we can only imagine what it looks like in full bloom in summer - guess we’ll have to brave the heat and find out.

Dolly really enjoyed being able to adventure with us this week…

After the gardens we headed over to one of our favorite spots - Central Machine Works, before heading back home.

Isla and I were able to squeeze in some after holiday shopping at one of our favorite spots (the Domain), while the boys hit up the boardwalk.

The Dowds joined us for a very chilly New Years Eve. We first met up at Jester King Brewery before heading home to warm up by the fire and play games to ring in 2021.

The next morning we dragged ourselves out of bed to meet the Gayser for a hike and lunch/drinks at Radio.

It was a great way to say goodbye to a unforgettable year and look optimistically towards a brighter 2021.
