My Sweet Baby Boy
I hear this a lot from other people, but of course there are always things that you wish your child would do better. For Holden this is sleeping. While he basically sleeps through the night (he alternately wakes up once a night for a feeding during the week and then goes right back to bed), he very rarely naps longer then twice a day for about half an hour.
But as I sit here writing this, I can hear his high pitched squeaks of elation coming from the other room while he entertains himself, and I am reminded of what a sweet boy he really is.
Always quick with a smile he has yet to meet a person he doesn't like, and furthermore a person that he doesn't want to pick him up and snuggle him. When his sister is throwing a fit at bedtime, the grocery store, the gym parking lot... you get the idea, he looks on quietly as if he knows that Mom needs to focus more of her attention on Isla. When he is excited about something he shakes his little feet up and down while squealing with joy, and the looks on his face are priceless.
I am keenly aware of how fast he is growing up. I wish I could take his sweet personality and freeze it in time. Please don't ever change Holden - we love you SO much, just the way you are...
Falling asleep on Daddy after a long weekend
Holden LOVES to swing. He smiles the whole time, but gets particularly happy when he gets closest to the one pushing him
Bathtime is also one of his favorite activities. Although he has to battle a crazy older sister who believes our bathtub contains slides that she climbs up and goes down over and over again.
