The Highly Sought After Christmas Photo
Every year I stress out about taking the perfect Christmas Card Photo. I want a picture that truly portrays our family and captures what we are all about. Of course, this means, I am typically very stressed out and frustrated before we even leave and have a minor meltdown picking out outfits and trying to prevent the kids from messing up said outfits and or hair.
Well, this year I decided to try and be more casual about it. My friend Jamie and I took our families to a spot in Old Katy and took some "stress-free" shots. Okay, well - not entirely stress free. Isla of course drove me crazy refusing to pose for ANYTHING.
After fretting internally about not getting the perfect shot, I came to a compromise between my perfect family self, and my family. I think the below pictures truly exhibit what my family is all about. Who cares if Isla is running around playing while I'm pleading with her to sit and smile. So what if Holden's trying to eat dirt and grass? This is my family, and when it comes down to it, don't I want to look back and remember us as we truly were? I love everything about my family, and I wouldn't change any of it - even to get the perfect Christmas photo.
Besides, as an added bonus, Jamie was able to get a picture that I will be using for our Christmas card that I am actually pretty happy with. Well, as happy as my "perfect family self" can be.
Merry VERY EARLY Christmas from The Fifes!
